The days of "hit and miss" planning are over. You need to state the
goal, create the plan, and establish the method before starting the action. Use 7MP-PC
IV and take the guess work, and the rework, out of any project.
By using the 7 Management and Planning Tools, you can take a seemingly
complex, abstract idea and narrow it down to an understandable, orderly plan of
action, considering the time to complete, the specific tasks to undertake, and
the order in which to complete them.
Use 7MP-PC IV to create:
- Affinity Diagram The Affinity Diagram allows you to take
what initially seemed a large unrelated grouping of information and organize
it in such a way as to easily recognize new trends or patterns of
information.
- Interrelationship Digraph The Interrelationship Digraph
can take ideas from the Affinity Diagram, or any other source, and show how
they relate to one another. Often used as a tool to determine the underlying
causes of situations, an Interrelationship Digraph can easily allow you to
see which causes are fundamental to the solution.
- Prioritization Matrix The Prioritization Matrix take the
specific assignments, tasks, or options, and, through a systematic
procedure, assigns weighted measures. These measures are then used to
prioritize and determine the relative importance of each.
- Matrix Diagram The Matrix Diagram helps to analyze the
correlation between two or more related groups of ideas while at the same
time showing the strength of that correlation.
- Process Decision Program Chart (PDPC) Used when the steps
of a proposed process need to be analyzed, the PDPC Chart shows the
"what ifs" and the possible countermeasures if a situation does
occur.
- Tree Diagram Once the important issues are apparent, the
Tree Diagram is used to stratify ideas by increasing the level of detail.
The Tree Diagram helps take broad goals or ideas and narrow them into
specific assignments, tasks, or options.
- Tree Diagram This final management tool takes a known
process, organizes all the steps, and determines the critical path and the
time to accomplish all the tasks and subtasks.
To make 7MP-PC IV even easier...
7MP-PC IV provides a prompting tool to assist in the formation
of each type of chart. The prompting tool will ask the necessary questions, such
as, "What is the relationship between X and Y?" The program will then
use this information to create the actual chart.
Since the 7MP tools are often used as a series of steps leading to the final
resolution of a problem, 7MP-PC IV can easily derive one chart
from another, avoiding unnecessary data input. The user has complete flexibility
to choose which items are included in the new chart.
7MP-PC IV's advanced help system gives detailed descriptions
of each of the 7MP tools, helping decided which tool is best for the current
situation, and then guides you effortlessly through the formation of the chart.
- Choose from a variety of colors, fonts, lines, arrows, and symbols.
- Create charts using a combination of either text, symbols, or "Drag
and Drop."
- Offers multiple levels of zoom, alignment tools, and "print to
fit."
- Undo Option to "undo" up to the last ten changes.
