TEST is a software system for designing and analyzing statistically designed
tests. It makes easier the following:
| Designing Tests | Test Planning | Data Reduction |
| Data Analysis | Plotting Results | Finding Optimum Conditions |
| Summarizing Results | Reporting Conclusions |
TEST works for very LARGE problems allowing fifty (50) measured response variables to be analyzed in a single run. This saves time and enables you to find the best product and operating conditions in a multi-response environment.
TEST analyzes mixture tests involving mixture variables as well as regular tests and also tests with combinations of mixture and regular variables. This software system is built in modules to accomplish the above eight steps in testing:

| Generates a test design (plan)................................................................ | DESIGN
|
| Evaluates test designs and generates a proposal ..................................... | ASSESS
|
| Combines test data and sets up data for analysis Performs Analysis of Variance, Correlation and sets up the data for Regression Analysis. Links TEST software to SAS, Excel, SPSS and other software........................................................... |

DESIGN software enables the user to quickly generate statistically designed
test plans. The statistical test plans generated by DESIGN are:
| Orthogonal Arrays (Taguchi) | RSM (Response Surface Methods) | Optimization
|
| Mixture Designs | Factorial Test Designs
|
|
| DOES Screening Test Designs | Fractional Factorial Test Plans |
For example, DESIGN software shows you how to design a fractional factorial test when confounding of main effects with interactions is desired or when selected interactions are desired for inclusion in a test.
Statistical Test Plans can be achieved to:
Availability: DOS, Windows 3.1, Windows 95 and Windows NT
ASSESS software evaluates test designs for their validity by computing a correlation matrix between independent variables in the test design. This correlation matrix tells the user whether the test design is valid. The size of correlations reflect the independence of design variables and computed design variables. Small correlations between model terms is desirable.
ASSESS also produces a proposal which outlines the purpose of this test, the objectives, the model being considered, a userdirected time schedule to be followed and other useful information.

TRANSFORM

TRANSFORM data variables gives the user an easy way to convert test data to more useable scales. Currently available transformations include:
Arcsine Converts a variable to the arcsine of the individual values.
Design Units Converts individual values of a design variable to design
units from actual units. The values of midpoints and design units are put
in the input file by the user. The formula used is: XMP= DU
X
Log base 10 - Takes the logarithm of values using base 10
Log base e - Takes the logarithm of values using base e.
Quadratic Variables Multiplies each value of the variable by itself to form a new variable.
Reciprocal - Divides each value into 1 and creates a new variable.
Sine - Takes the sine of each value.
Square Root- Computes the value of each variable the 1/2 power.
Standard Deviation - Computes the values of each variable in standard units based on the mean and standard deviation for the variable.
Tangent - Takes the Tangent of each value of the variable.
2-Factor Interactions - Computes 2 factor interactions between variables e.g. X1*X2.
Algebraic - Allows the user to write their own transformations using algebra. New variables may be a function of existing variables and/or constants.

GRAPHICS produces plots of relationships between variables which gives a visual picture of the test results.
GRAPHICS plots the following types of graphs:
One Dimensional graphs showing how one variable affects another.
Two Dimensional contour plots showing how two variables affect another variable.
Three Dimensional graphs showing the surface of one variable being affected
by two other variables.
Interaction plots showing how two variables work together to jointly affect
a third variable.
Response plots showing the relationship between two measured variables (e.g.,
Production and Quality).
Mixture graphs showing how components of a blend work together to influence important product characteristics.
OPTIMIZATION of products and processes helps you:
MAXIMUM: Yield, Quality, Customer Acceptance, Durability, Production
MINIMIZE: Cost, Waste, Bad Side Effects, Pollution, Impurities, Rejects
Enables you to achieve property balancing to meet customer parameter specs. This software will handle 40 product variables in a single run.
PREDICTion of product performance is software which predicts how products will perform in the marketplace. It can also be used to predict Yield, Quality, Cost, Impurities, Concentration, Pollution, Sales, Profits, and other characteristics.
This software can use many types of models including linear, loglinear, interactions, quadratic, cubic, mixtures, and others.
REPORTing of test results and conclusions helps the user develop written reports and presentations. It guides the user through by producing tables, graphs, and charts describing the entire test results. It outlines test objectives, approaches, statistical techniques used, model types, and nomenclature to completely describe the test.
This comprehensive SPACE Allocation software allows users to construct, on a computer screen, a visual representation of space used for merchandise. It computes profitability under various scenarios or stocking plans. Area sections are color coded by type e or brand and may be labeled by the user as needed.
Drag 'n Drop mouse features help the user quickly and easily fill up the available space with products. Graphical features show how the space is allocated for ease of reporting. User may print a color picture of the space with color coded areas and labels. SPACE works on laptop computers for ease of presentations, and as a selling tool
SPACE also computes profitability for any allocation of available products. User may try different product mixes and compute the profits under each mix. Color graphics, including pie charts and bar charts, are used to show a comparison of various product mixes.
Once a SPACE Allocation plan is developed, it may be saved for future use. Standard plans may be saved and modified for individual situations. User may retrieve previous plans and modify as needed for different locations.
SPACE was originally developed for instore merchandising shelves, but has other applications such as warehouse management, vending machines, etc.

Orthogonal Polynomials (OPY) develops a more usable model than standard polynomials which have intercorrelated model term. OPY separates the effects of higher order model terms.
The orthogonal model has independent terms which accurately reflect the importance of each model term. It handles up to four (4) model terms. The output includes orthogonal coefficients, a regression analysis, statistical models, predicted versus actual residuals, ANOVA.
