Grouping of frequently used charts into worksets, which can open all charts within the group exactly as you right them in your last session.
Networking,
Database Access, and Programming
ODBC Query feature that allows any ODBC
data source to be accessed for read-only analysis. The 'Query definition'
is stored as part of a regular QDB file, and can be subsequently re-run to
obtain a current set of data. The 'Query results' appear much like normal
columns in the SPC data editor.
Foreign language interface can be conveniently switched
to the following languages through a menu selection:
Supports ASCII (comma,
tab, or space
delimited), DBF III or DBF IV, and DIF data file formats for
import and export
of data.
Spreadsheet functions for calculating
user-defined parameters.
Practically unlimited number of
characteristics per file.
Descriptive fields which may be viewed
during File/Open for ease of file
selection.
Reporting
Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) to provide
a direct linking of files across Windows applications, for real time updating
of charts without needless re-entering of
data.
Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) to
place SPC charts into other Windows applications and report writers, such
as Microsoft Word, without running SPC-PC IV
Ability to annotate charts freely to
identify causes of process shifts or to clarify process
behavior.
JPEG, PCX, and WMF graphics file format
support for export of charts to other
applications.
Use of DDE in conjunction with Macro
languages from Visual Basic, Excel, and other applications to automate chart
formation and report
generation.
Multiple user concurrent access of files
with automatic updates of charts for continuous supervision of the process
across a network.
Advanced networking features include
supervisory features and network alerting. Using the Supervisory features
remote workstations can receive automatic updates of process activities while
data is entered at any workstation connected to the network. In addition,
alerting messages can be sent to advise of user-defined conditions such as
a violation of control limits, spec limits, or Cpk values. Messages can then
be sent between users to document special causes and advise of appropriate
corrective
actions.
