Lesson 4 X Bar and R charts
Students learn how to compute the averages and control limits for both Average
and Range control charts. The table of the constants (A2, D3, and D4) and an
onscreen calculator are included in the lesson to facilitate calculations.
In this exercise the onscreen calculator was used to calculate the Upper
Control Limit. You may choose to have the program solve the problem by selecting “Solve.”
